Wordful Wednesday keep on smiling

*Wordful Wednesday is for those of us that like to showcase a photo(s) but that just can't seem keep our mouths shut about it(them).

Wordful Wednesday for me this week is things that put a smile on my face.

Yes I realize they are commpletely random.
This first pic was taken when I had just come out of the girls room for the 3rd time in 10 minutes to break up a fight. I was making Chris a buffalo chicken pizza, I poured the buffalo sauce in the pan
I had to run in the girls room to be referee and when I came back I found this. Ha ha I think it was a sign.

Next pic... This is how I found Devan sleeping when I checked on her a couple weeks ago.

Next is a cute little face that could make anyone smile

And last I found the girls using my cabnet as a hide out. I luaghed because days before I was laughed at
by family that of course there was no clutter on it. Well guys it's full now.

Happy wordful wednesday

Yup they are definitely in school

I can't help but notice some of the girls behaviors and events that have happened sets reality in that
they are "school kids" now.

It is funny too because as a kids once you are in school
you think you are a "big kid"

I really need to break out my manual on the girls and look again for pause rewind,
It has to be there somewhere.

The girls attended their first birthday party for one of their school friends.
The girls share a best friend, his name is Cameron.
He told his mom that "his girls" had to come to the party.

Another thing that reminds me of "school kids" is how fast the girls are learning.
They have mastered writing their names
and Daddy and I are super proud of them.

I love doing crafty projects with the girls and of course they love it too.
The last project we did were candy cane names.
You can't tell in the picture that their names are on the candy canes but they are
and it was super fun.

Ryleigh is my little artist she loves to color, Devan not as much
but she does once in a while.

This is Ryleigh's picture of a kitty

Maine Winter Weather has Arrived

We got a little snow the other day and the girls were ecstatic about it. We went out right away just to stand on the deck and take a peek. The next day I bundled them up and let them go outside by themselves for the first time( I sat in the window in the living room the whole time.) We live on a camp road in Maine where I am sure nothing bad would ever happen but I can't turn off worrying about them.

The girls ended up coming inside shortly after all the hard work of getting them out there and it reminded me of my mom "If I get you all ready you better stay out for a while" Mom I finally understand

Hearing from Santa

The girls and I wrote letters to Santa the other day and I "mailed them" to my Aunt who sent letters back to the girls. When we checked the mail and they saw the letters, they were so excited. The magic of Santa really set in with these letters. As I read them the girls were shaking with excitement. They were so happy Santa answered all their questions and knew what they wanted. Every year holidays get more and more exciting. The girls are so ready for Christmas this year. They think birthdays and Christmas go hand and hand where their birthday is 3 days before Christmas. This year they are having a birthday party with friends from school, their friend Kylie and a few family members. I really want to the girls to have a birthday, it is easy to forget where it is around the holiday season. I want them to know their birthday is their birthday not another Christmas, I think having their friends here will help with that!

After school today I took the girls over to see Santa. There was only one other kid there the whole time so it was really nice. The girls both sat on Santa's lap and told them what they wanted.

Earlier this week we had an incident where Ryleigh threw a ceramic tea cup at her sisters head. She was so happy to see in her letter that Santa still thinks she was a good girl. I tried telling her she still was a good girl even though she did something naughty but she was convinced otherwise. When we went to see Santa he asked the girls if they had a tea set and Ryleigh's eyes got so big. She was terrified. lol

When we left Devan said the cutest thing.

Devan, "Mommy how did Santa marry Mrs Claus?"
Me, "They had a wedding and got married"
Devan "Yeah but he couldn't kiss her to live happily ever after, his beard is blocking his lips."
Me. "Well maybe when Santa was younger his beard was shorter."
LOL kids got to love them

I am thankful for

With the holiday season approaching I am trying to teach the girls what is most important and to be thankful for the things we have. On every day from now until thanks giving I am going to post what I am thankful for that day. Join me if you wish, I know time is precious so you don't have to everyday but participate when you find the time.

Today I am most thankful for my family. On the ride home from school a song came on that brings back a lot of memories, I got tears in my eyes looking back at my beautiful girls in the back seat and realized that life is precious and sometimes too short. The song was Somewhere over the Rainbow, this song is little Gracie's song. Gracie was an angel sent down to teach everyone a lesson. I have never seen such a little body, someone totally dependant on others make such an impression. Gracie's lesson to me was relax, enjoy the time you get with your girls. It does not matter how long you get but how you spend that time. I have/had anxiety when it came to the girls. This is something I am not familiar with other then with the girls. I still checked to make sure they were breathing at night (more then once) I was in constant fear, this is a fear all mommy's understand. The fear is born along with your babies and never goes away. For me I made all decsions around this fear... that was until I got to meet Gracie. I watched her parents hang on to her last days, hours, and breaths. Her parents, My cousin and his girl friend were so mature. I sat back and noticed that they were trying to take in every last minute they got with Grace, not fearing for what was to come, they would handle that when they got there. As I watched and stood with my family, peace came over me and I knew that everything would be OK. I could relax and enjoy my girls. As well as the fear that was born so was courage, maturity and the ability to deal with the unthinkable. I am thankful for my family immediate and distant they both have huge lasting impressions on me.

Gracie, you are missed dearly by many. I will never forget your lessons. I told your Mommy and Daddy how I felt in a poem and they told me that many people had learned something from you. I am sad when I think of how cute it could have been to see you and the girls play together. They still ask me from time to time, "mommy is baby grace still with the angels?" I tell them yes she is with Grampa Paul and Grampa Jack and Ben dog they are all with the angels. The girls will never forget Grace all of their dolls are named Grace. Nobody who got to meet sweet little Grace will ever forget her.

Beautiful Gracie
